Maine

Have you ever been to Maine? Because if you haven’t, you should. So much beauty and wilderness. It is both friendly and rugged. I visited in 2015, and my memories are as crystal clear as the water in Isle Au Haut Bay. This was a family trip, though, and the kids were young so we didn’t do as much hiking as I would have liked. But we had a little taste of all things Acadia and Bar Harbor, which was just the right introduction to the endless possibilities of adventure available in Maine. The entire gallery here is from a walk around Jordan Lake in Acadia National Park. A very pretty walk with boulders, boardwalks, and a beaver den! They classify this as a “moderate” hike, but compared it was mush easier than some of the hikes in Northern New Jersey listed by the same category. Jordan Lake is a water supply lake so it’s clarity is astounding. The whole family, including the two complaining kids, enjoyed this hike!
